well OK, when I hear "world which challenges our understanding of life death and the limits of human ambitions" I feel the presence of the Bible like a Black Hole ready to absorbe all this stuff, planets, engineers, xenomorphs Weyland Yutani etc. and grind it to dust and regurgitate it in a new narrative honoring truth. The hypothesis by which they developed the 'things' also to wipe away previous form of life on planets, doesn't hold water. You can well imagine alternative "ecological" eans to get rid of the upper life of a planete. If you do terraforming, you can do also "Venus-forming" transforming an abitable planet in a desert of death. If you wish you can develop other invisible genetic factors able to destroy life forms you wish to wipe away. Xenomorphs are also DNA, and you can develop special viruses able to disgregate their DNA.... in the far away future, 2100 a.C., it's daily businness such genetic stuff...... It is clear that the Engineers are LIARS. And men are easy prey to the LIES of the Engineers.... Mmmmh, where else did I see that in the Bible, perhaps John 8:44 ? ..... So you can start to imagine that the Engineers were able to induce man (Weyland Yutani) to believe a LIE (2 Thessalonian 2:11), as we can see that also in the far away future delusions will not be a scarce commodity.... Here the Bible can have her revenge.... Aren't those "Liars from Outer Space" the 'ole good guys of Genesis 6 ? They loved the 'daughers of men', i.e. loved interbreeding with humans and their DNA ? ..... If they tell me "we are aliens doing genetic experiments", no, I will not believe them.... I'll open my King James (Notice: I said "King James", not "King Trump"...) Bible, and I'll recite to their face simply Isaiah 14 ...... "13For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High."... and asking them "do you know what says the verse 15 ?.... (the one that says they'll be brought to Hell)....
It is evident that the Engineers are those "sons of God" of Genesis 6, Psalm 82, Job 38 etc. Being fallen from God's grace, they lost a lot of their spiritual power and enchained in this material world like we are with our biological bodies. They try to get back for their boss the Devil the lost crown of anointed by God and ruler of universe (see Ezekiel 28), working hard to build for themselves a "divine" body and an host of monster, the xenomorphs. .... As the Alien saga is becoming a little repetitive, maybe a final, conclusive episode which would shock the spectator, will give it "new life" ("born again" saga). ..... You can represent the truth trying to come out to light through a typical left wing lesbian biologist who begins to have doubts on the official Weyland Yutani corp lies.... While conservative Christians are supporting the "party line" quoting the Bible where it says God gave to man dominion over the nature, but just only to have protection and $$$ from the secular power.... It is interesting to see that LGBTQ and abortion are reflecting that same "ambition to be God" of the Engineers.... meawhile Wyland Yutani represent well the "conservative" "nationalist" Christianity who believes to transform a free country in a "theocracy of the Gospel", seeking $$$ because believing God blessed them and therefore they "believe a lie" (Wyeland Yutani) to not be deluded in their expectation of a false Gospel.... As I said, that black hole is able to grind everyone to dust (Matthew 21:44)

Another thought. This final ending, biblical one, for this saga, is more "leftist" than it could appear. If you oppose to a typical skeptic agnostic human scientist the greediness of an institutionalized WY corp, you can exalt some dark aspect of the "governing evangelicalism" of conservatives.
While justifying their power & $$$ coming from their support to WY corp. with the command to rule the creation given to man after the flood, they in reality are not serving God, but the king of this world, from whom they received his power (WY corp.) as per Luke 4:6 ("...and to whomsoever I will give my kingdom").
In the future the Devil will allure the "conservatives" in to believe they are managing God's rule in the universe (trying to tame Xeno) but in reality they are helping to extend the Devil's kingdom with his Engineers & related "pets".
If a story writer feels the actual climate in the US a bit 'suffucating', why not use the same sword ("Bible", "KJV" etc.) this theocracy is using to rule the country, against her the same ?

My bad, I forgot the narrative about LV-426.... Well you can position it after David hijacks Covenant ship and in a way or another he meets again a team of Engineers which remain infected by the xenomorphs and do an emergency landing on LV-426.... You can imagine a total destruction of Covenant ship together with David, or his survival among the wreckage floating in space until a Wyland Yutani tug find his head😅 (like the beginnin of Romulus) to retrieve from his memory biological info on the xeno and especially the space coordinates where to get some samples of them back (LV-426).... Here, Alien 1979 is placed..... Or you can let him survive in full autonomy, free to roam the universe, so you can build other stories and movies on him....😅
