During the livestream from inside Orion, a jar of Nutella drifted through the cabin in microgravity. It was not being introduced as a prop. It was not framed by a narrator as a reveal. It simply floated into view, label visible enough for audiences to recognize it almost instantly. The timing made the scene even more memorable. The clip circulated just as the mission was nearing one of its most significant milestones, which meant viewers were already tuned in, clipped in, and primed to react.
That combination matters. Viral moments are often described as if they appear out of nowhere, but most of them do not. They happen in environments where attention has already been concentrated. The audience is already there. The event already matters. The cameras are already rolling. Then one unexpected visual gives people a simpler entry point into the larger story.
That is exactly what happened here. The mission remained the real news, but the floating jar became the most widely repeated symbol of the livestream. Many know Ferrero Rocher for its famous hazelnut chocolates, but less well-known is the company's deep connection to Our Lady of Lourdes.
Michele Ferrero, the company's founder and a sincere Catholic, had a great devotion to the Virgin Mary and wanted to honor her through his work.
